Evie’s 100k walk to support Stockport Foodbank

2nd November 2020

We have been overwhelmed by people’s efforts to support Stockport foodbank in these last few months and love hearing about the different ways people are supporting us.

We were delighted to hear about 10 year old Evie who lives in Edgeley. A pupil at Alexandra Park Primary School, Evie has always been sporty playing football for a local team and regularly walking with her parents and baby sister. She’s also a keen Manchester City supporter.

In November Evie is putting her love of walking to good use by walking 100k to raise money for Stockport Foodbank. Sara, Evie’s mum, explains “We’ve been talking a lot about foodbanks and people needing to use them more as she has noticed a lot of the work done by Marcus Rashford. This has opened her eyes up to a different side of growing up and has made her aware of the difficulties of other children. Her school have been educating the pupils that many in the local community might be struggling so Evie decided she wanted to do something to help other Stockport 10 year olds who may not be as fortunate as she is. Walking 100k in a month will be a big challenge but she is so determined to complete it – we are really proud of her.”
