Local business to donate profits to support Stockport Foodbank

27th July 2020

A kind-hearted, Stockport businessman has made a generous commitment to donate 10% of his profits to Stockport Foodbank. Charles Gorry who operates Charles Peter Construction Limited has been actively involved in a community group in the Heatons area of Stockport who have been supporting residents through the Covid 19 pandemic and organising regular produce collections for the foodbank. Charles decided he wanted to make an ongoing commitment to support the foodbank through his business.

Charles commented “My construction and home renovation business operates throughout Stockport and Manchester and it seemed like a great way for me to put something back into the community by committing part of my profits to the foodbank. I have been learning about the work of the foodbank recently and it has made me realise that we all have our part to play in helping people who are in financial crisis.”

Stockport Foodbank manager Nigel Tedford commented “We are overwhelmed by the generosity that has been shown to us in recent months. It is great to hear that Charles Peter Construction Limited are going to donate 10% of their profits to us. Financial donations help us to do more such as implementing a temporary delivery process to ensure people who are shielding or isolating who need our help can receive it and to purchase stock items that are not readily donated.”
