Brass Band Concert raises over £1,000 for Stockport Foodbank

30th January 2020

A fundraising brass band concert organised by the Vernon Building Society raised a massive £1,336 for Stockport Foodbank.

The award-winning Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band delighted the audience with a series of classic tunes and crowd favourites. The two-hour set provided something for everyone and many of the concert goers commented on how the event provided a real lift from the January blues.

Nigel Tedford, manager of Stockport Foodbank was delighted to see such fantastic support for the event. He commented “We were delighted to see an audience of almost 200 people at the fundraiser. Everybody was blown away by the performance by the excellent Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band who gave up their evening to raise a magnificent sum of money for Stockport Foodbank. We were extremely grateful to our volunteers who turned out in force to make refreshments and to the Vernon Building Society who once again generously gave their support and organised a top-quality event. The funds raised will allow us to continue our work across Stockport to lend a helping hand to those in need by supplying emergency food parcels.”
