Stockport Foodbank launches Reverse Advent 2022

7th November 2022

Turning Advent on its head

During Advent we look forward to taking chocolate or other treats from our calendar – but perhaps this year we can ask you, your family, work colleagues, church congregation or neighbours to put something back into our community to help those in need?

Could you add a daily food item into a collection bag/box and donate it to Stockport Foodbank?

How do I take part?

It’s very simple.  You don’t need to register, just start collecting in your home, church, workplace or community and then drop your bag or parcel with us at our warehouse in Hazel Grove during December (Mondy-Friday from 9am to 12noon) or at Tesco Portwood on Thursday 22 December from 3pm to 6pm. It’s as simple as shop and drop!

What should I donate?

We welcome donations of a variety of long-life food items including milk, juice, tinned puddings, rice pudding tinned meats, tinned vegetables, tinned potatoes, biscuits, Christmas treats, snacks and toiletries including soap, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Please, no Christmas puddings or Christmas fayre containing alcohol. At present we have an excess of pasta and baked beans.

If you require more information please email us at [email protected] or call us on 07483 115349.

Financial donations

We are welcoming financial donations as well as food donations. These can be done in a variety of different ways – by sending us a cheque made payable to Stockport Foodbank to Hazel Grove Baptist Church, Station Street, SK7 4EX, by donating via justgiving or by bank transfer. More details on how to support us financially can be found here.
